MOSHING CREATURES

Miami Underground Miami is often associated with beaches, Luxury, nightlife and tourism, but beneath that image exists a network of DIY venues, promoters, musicians and fans sustaining an underground music culture of their own. Over the last months, I have been documenting South Florida's punk, hardcore, goth and alternative music communities. While much of Miami's public image revolves around nightlife, tourism and luxury culture, a parallel network of DIY venues, independent promoters leading the way like Jeff from Equinox, musicians and fans continues to thrive across the region, keeping this subcultures more alive than ever. This project is an ongoing visual record of a culture that rarely receives sustained attention despite its impact on generations of local musicians and artists.
